Hey all! Question that I hope someone can answer. I am finally getting my 17" MBP soon, just shipped out today!

Has anyone with a similar machine run WoW at the native resolution of the 17" with most graphics options up all the way? 1920x1200 would be awesome for playing WoW. I'm curious of the performance because i'd love to hook it up to a 46" 1080p LCD that I have.

I am getting the 17" MBP with the 2.93GHz processor, and 7200 rpm hdd. The rest is stock. I am also playing WotLK, so it has that graphics bump as well.

I completly understand that this is not a gaming machine and I'm not expecting 100fps at max settings, wow is my only non-console gaming vice. I'm just looking for a playable framerate at as close to max settings ad possible.

Thanks in advance,
Staufman

Iv got the same model except the 7200rpm hdd

max setting on windows vista i get 30fps. In dalaran i get 15-20. Raids are about the same (Naxx). Bear in mid i have like 100mbs worth of addons

Sorry i havent installed wow on OSX so im not sure what the performance would be like

Buddy of mine from works plays on his 2.53, 2gig unibody MBP and I've seen him full power on the GT card run 25 to 35 FPS in Dalaran and well over 60 FPS out flying around farming for herbs or whatever. I was impressed with how well his MBP ran it all things considered.

On my bottom of the line Macbook Pro I play WoW Natively on OSX, and I usually average 30-40 with the 9400m, and 50-60 with the 9600m GT.(1440x900) So you should be fine with the 17" Macbook Pro. Wow is not a graphics intense game at all, so I wouldn't worry if I were you.
