I bought my 17 Pro Max (iOS 26) over two weeks now and I was checking my display uniformity and found that I have a thick dark line when opening the black/grey background picture.

Could anyone who has the 17 Pro Max do this test below to check if you also have it aswell:

1. Make sure room is completely dark with no light

2. Download the picture onto your phone

3. Turn down screen brightness all the way down

4. Open the picture you downloaded and make it full screen and in landscape orientation

5. Do you see a thick dark line running across half of your screen?

Does anyone know why I have this dark line? Why when I move the picture the line moves all over the screen? Is there something wrong with my screen or this is a software issue? What should I do?

Why do people go to these lengths to try and engineer an issue with a phone.

Does it affect the day to day use of the phone and can you see it in normal use?

If no, get on with your life

If yes, take it back to Apple

There is no third option of jumping through hoops and going through convoluted processes just so you can whinge on a forum

If you have to jump through these kinds of hoops, just to see an issue then perhaps you have been duped by power of suggestion and there really is no dark line at all. After reading your other posts on this forum, I’m inclined to believe that power suggestion would have a strong effect on you.
