I have had my 17 Pro Max for over a week now and testing this battery drain to determine if my iPhone is faulty or if it’s an iOS issue. If 17PM owners can help do this test and post your results it would be appreciated as I don’t have much time left if I need to return the phone.

17 Pro Max settings for the test:

- iOS 26
- Battery can be at this range 50-70%
- Background App Refresh: ON
- 30% screen brightness
- Rest is default settings
- Connected to WiFi

Test:

- Open up Safari browser
- Goto any websites like Reddit or forums
- You will start browsing, scrolling and opening pages without stopping activity until you lose 1% battery
- Take note on how long it took you to lose 1% battery

Results:

My results is I lose 1% battery for every 5-6 minutes. What are your results? Do you experience the same battery drain as me?

By that calculation if you went from 100% --> 0% you would be getting 8.3 - 10 hours of active use, not just watching videos. That's actually pretty damn good.
