17" unibody graphics question

Do you have to log out or reboot to switch between the 2 graphics cards? I heard on the 15" you have to log off to switch, but some posts from 17" owners have implied that the switch is seamless.

Yes you have to log out. It's not a switch, the setting is in the Energy Saver preferences and it's "Better battery life" or "Higher performance".

You have to log out. Just tried it on my 17" it told me I had to log out.

Hmm, thanks for the answers. Logging out isn't the end of the world but I hope they fix it so it's not required in the future. I know dual graphics PCs can switch between the two cards without the need for a logout or reboot (and they require reboots to do just about anything), not sure why the Mac can't do the same.
