Recently I acquired a 17" Core2Duo white iMac. It kinda works - boots and everything, and I see display, but the SuperDrive is broken and the thing is gross. Like gross-gross. But hey, it was free!

So I started disassembling the thing so that I could clean it properly - even the insulating, metallic inside is brown and gross. I wanted to make sure it was at least clean before I'd assemble it again - which is going to be fun in it's own right, given the routing of the cables.
Anyway, long story short, I cannot get the last remaining piece of hardware out, the DC/DC board (that's this thing)

The screw on the left, the one screw, seems to be stuck. It's loose, because the board does wiggle about. However, I cannot get the screw to come out. It spins freely, and I cannot get it put back either. The thing just won't come out, and I don't understand why.

What I'm afraid of is that the plastic(?) holding the screw to the frame itself has broken off and that that is what is holding the DC/DC board in place. Does anyone have any experience with removing these boards? The two screws on the right of the board came out no issue at all.

EDIT:
If this is true, it seems like I will have to remove the rear frame and re-glue the bushing to the back panel... I couldn't find any guides regarding the removal of the rear subframe, is there any literature on that?
