17" with 8GB of RAM

So I assume the 17" MBP is using the same motherboard. Do people think it is possible for the 15" MBP to recognise and use 8GB. I remember that someone got to 6GB but 8GB did not work [or was not recognised i don't remember].

Everything since Santa Rosa should be able to handle 8 GB of RAM just fine. Now if Apple includes that support via firmware or software is another story.

8gb will work but not until apple decides they want it to, also its a slightly different model of motherboard in the 17" versions
