Howdy,

I use my laptop alot, but mostly connected to a power adapter. It gets used on battery about 4 to 5 times a week, and usually gets depleted when I do so.

Any advice on my battery issue? It is so bad now that some times the laptop just shuts off with out warning and all is lost, it does not sleep like it did when I first got it.

How old is the machine? Did you calibrate the battery? Do you have AppleCare?

Is it normal to buy a new one every year? This laptop is just under a year old.

Take it to the an Apple store or call up/contatct tech support, that seems like way too few cycles to kill a battery.

Your battery comes with 12mth warranty (not sure does it extend ifyou have AppleCare) but anyway, if it's within the first year, then return it back to apple for a exchange - they will probably think it's under-performing.
