Flex 2 works for me.

Unfortunately, it (BumpyFlatline's two tweaks: "Hide Status Bar" and "Hide Status Bar (StarHud comp") "only" hide the system status bar, not Safari's own address + tab (iPad) / address (iPhone in Portrait) bar, unlike earlier tweaks like the excellent Fullscreen for iPad (by Yllier).

Nevertheless, I highly recommend it too - it's still more than nothing.
