Jon Stewart to Host 2006 Academy Awards
Makes me happy
Probably the funniest guy on television. And likely to avoid anything related to Uma OR Oprah.
Makes me happy

Shoot, let's say he goes all out, remember when Michael Moore got "political"?
I'm pretty sure he will, as he is a comedian first. Though I'm guessing you don't watch him much, because he pretty much makes fun of both sides.OnceUGoMac said:As long as Stewart keeps his politics to himself, it may be worth it.

OnceUGoMac said:I watch his show a lot, although I liked the correspondents better when Kilborn was hosting. He kind of makes fun of the Dems, but only once in a blue moon. He's vehemently anti-Republican, and it comes through often. I recall watching one of his speeches on C-SPAN during the 2004 elections, and realizing how anti-Republican he is. Mind you, I don't feel he's that progressive, just anti-Republican. I agree with you, though, that he'll be toned down.
He is a supporter of McCain and Spectre, among others, who he frequently has on his show. He makes fun on Dean and Kerry all the time. During the 2000 election, he poked fun at the Clintons and Gore way more than Bush. I don't want to have this moved to the political forum, but he makes fun of whoever he thinks is doing something rediculous, and it makes sense that he would target whoever is in majority power. I watch his show all the time, and have since before the Repubs were in charge, and when Kilborn hosted from '96-'99.OnceUGoMac said:He's vehemently anti-Republican, and it comes through often.

That being said, I want Conan to host it.

US-style date.MOFS said:9th of December 2001? Maybe 12th September 2001?! Aren't ye a day out?
Yeah, I realized that after I said it. So then, the terrorists did win? Hopefully the next President is a Dem... so I can make fun of them again.Thanatoast said:lol. as if you have to ask. 9-12-01, of course.

Killborn hosted the show in its very beginnings and then left when he got his own gig on late night. Jon Stewart replaced him, which is when the "With Jon Stewart" was added (obviously). It was never "...With Craig Killborn"AP_piano295 said:kilborn hosted the show?
