Apple voice navigation will work over my bluetooth radio with 7.1. About Time Thank you apple. now its easier than google maps

Do we have to activate this every time we use it or will it stay as default...also how do we activate it?

so far it will stay on bluetooth. i have tried it twice already and didn't have to change it. You have to click on the speaker icon in the lower right corner and change it from headset to bluetooth

Would you please explain this a bit more in detail? I have my iphone paired with my car and Apple maps voice guidance has always played over my car's sound system since iOS 6?

Maybe its my car than because apple maps did not work over my bluetooth radio until after this update. Siri would work but the voice by voice navigation would only come through my iPhone speaker. Now my radio will turn down the the direction will play and vice versa

mine works like yours. I use to have change the audio source to bluetooth to get maps to work. Now it works like siri or a incoming call. When someone calls or the directions tell me to turn, it comes through the radio without having to change my phone to the bluetooth source via the car.

this exact quote is what I mean, "Previously, your device could only play navigation prompts if you switched your car’s stereo to the Bluetooth input, which in turn stopped music playback from the CD/MP3 player, FM tuner or any other audio source."

This is what I see now. Before the update the only output I saw was iphone

I turned on the HFP notifications in maps but it still doesn't give me any audio interruptions. I have a 2013 civic.

Ah that would be awesome if it works with my car. I'll have to try it out and report back.

Edit: yep it works and the switch appears. Mitsubishi lancer 2013.

Finally! I made a topic trying to explain this a while ago but no one seemed to understand

It's always worked through iOS6 and 7 in my Pioneer 8400BH, and my girlfriend's VW.

Weird.
