just got the new update and the first thing i noticed is how my battery drains down really fast. i mean i can almost see it drain right in front of me. the word was the new update was suppose to extend battery life, not shorten it. if apple doesnt fixe this my phone will be staying home on the charger will go go about.

I also noticed rapid battery drain after upgrading to iOS 7.1.1. From 11AM - 3PM (4 hour of very light use in CLASS) lost more than half by the time I got home. It was going strong at 7.1. You can revert to iOS 7.1 even now. The restore window is still open it seems.

Updates to 7.1.1 should have had no effect on battery life in comparison to 7.1. I'd check the batteries health using a program like ibackupbot. Also in the past I've found restoring from new to help battery issues I've run into.

Overall I'd say my battery in my iPhone 4S is fairly poor when it comes to usage. However the phone is doing a lot more and has a lot more features then it did when I originally got it with iOS 5.

I generally replace the battery in my phone yearly and I've noticed less difference doing that then I have by doing a restore as new.

really wish battery threads would just get automatically deleted.

Here's a summary of common threads we've seen over the past few months:

7.1.1 made my battery life worse!
7.1 made my battery life worse!
7.0.6 made my battery life worse!
7.0.5 made my battery life worse!

Here's a prediction for upcoming threads:

8.0 made my battery life worse!
8.0.1 made my battery life worse!
8.1 made my battery life worse!

With every update destroying battery life, obviously every iPhone user has to keep their phone constantly plugged in for power.

I heard rumours that Apple is planning "charging stations" for iPhone's all over the world to overcome battery drain....

Charging stations? Ha!

Constantly reducing battery life has been a big conspiracy by Apple.

Since every update has reduced battery further, all iPhone models now operate with negative amounts of power, and are required to always be plugged in. How can a device remain portable if it must be plugged in all the time?

Simple.

During the WWDC, Apple will introduce their newest product:

Holy crap, it's the über-rare "iOS update shortened my battery" thread!

These are SO rare, they're like an endangered species! Everyone should screenshot this thread and save it because it's likely you've never seen one before and will never see it again.

It's amazing when something so unique and unusual is discovered, no? :)

Haven't you noticed all the threads? Just check here or sites like reddit;
Every iOS update simply murders battery life. With so many people having their battery life reduced more and more, they must always be running around with 0%, so they obviously need to keep their iPhone plugged in to use it.

The best solution so remain ~portable~ is to push around a gas generator with you at all times, with your phone plugged into it.
