I don't know, telling customers to expect (not necessarily that it's happening for a fact) something in context of keeping them from leaving leaves a lot of room for something to really be factual. It could happen of course, simply just going by last few iPhone releases for example--which the company could have simply used as a basis for their call center messaging just to keep users from leaving--but this doesn't necessarily make it that much more or less likely.
 
Aside from the lucky peeps, lots of punters will have to wait at least one further month before they can get their grubby mitts on a new iPhone.

It won't be released in July. September is much more likely.
What was said is that it would be one more month after the release until most or at least a lot of people will actually be able to get their hands on one as a lot of the initial shipments can be sold out rather quickly in the early days/weeks.
