After speaking to O2 Representative about my eligibility for upgrade - the agent told me O2 would be the first network to bring iPhone to sale.

Unsure how true this is. But there we go...

I'm sure the front line people on the chat windows are not privy to all the internal planning and marketing so I take what any of them say with a grain of salt.

Most sales associates for carriers will say anything just to get you to sign up with them. I class this statement along those lines.

Yeah true - in previous years they've always had robotic responses. But this year giving a little bit more away - if it is an official response. :apple:

I chat to a Vodafone upgrade specialist today and he was being brutually honest and said I may as well wait a few days and see what Apple are offering before making a decision as it may be cheaper for me. Generally they try to talk you into upgrade/buying a contract with them there and then.

Truth be told, the front line people know just as much as we do, they may only know more about the actual process of what happens after the Apple announcement.

Maybe higher up they have more information and the carriers have already devised the plans/contracts/prices of the phone(s). I don't know.

I'm hoping Three have their act together as its the first year I am buying one on contract since the 3GS.

O2 have normally been a bit rubbish with pre-orders, I remember with my 3GS I had to pre-order from Carphone Warehouse as O2 were not accepting orders until launch day.

If Three don't have them for launch then I will probably switch networks to one that does.

Just seen on Three's twitter: https://twitter.com/ThreeUK they are hinting and getting people to sign up for updates. Maybe the UK networks will actually get it right this year.
