After trying both at the store, everyone who seemed to have gotten the 6 wanted it returned to get a plus. Many were unhappy it got sold out and they had to either simply return the 6 or accept it begrudgingly.

Everyone I saw. I was at number 60 in the line and everyone coming out of apple store before my turn and everyone in Apple store while I was in who I heard (20-30) people seemed to asking, can you do an exchange with a plus?
One had to know that people would cave when something isn't available they really want especially when it isn't going to be that easy to get it for awhile. The 6 isn't actually a terrible device, so .....
How about last year with the gold, folks opted for the different color instead.
