iOS 8.1 Battery Life

How long have you had it installed? Did the beta drain a lot of battery in the first day or two before having the same life as 8.0.2?

I did a fresh install of iOS 8.1 day one. And after the first day, battery life has been good. In my opinion, it has been better for me than iOS 7.
Significant battery life improvement with 8.1 beta 1 on ip6. 8.0.1 was about the same as 7 on my ip5, 8.1 is much better.

It drained heavily only while I was updating iCloud photo library. Other then that no. I did have a bug with standby and usage being the same but it worked itself out.
When I first got my 5s not even a month ago my battery lasted me between 8.5-9 hours and not even a month later it's back down to 4.5-5, hoping 8.1 will improve it.

Anyone experiening that should probably do a clean restore and do not setup from a backup. I have had no problems with my 5 on 8.0.2

Hmmm, this is real weird. Everybody is saying that theyre seeing an increase in battery life, Im seeing the exact opposite on my iPhone 5. Just upgraded and restored as new.

Apple needs to release 8.1. I'm tired of having to carry around my charging cable. 42 minutes of usage(98 % texting, 2%wifi) puts me at 80% battery from 100% charge.

Check your settings. iCloud photo might be the culprit. Or background refresh on some apps. Facebook notifications and background refresh are notoriously bad for battery life.
My battery life has actually gone down with beta 2 from 8.0.2. It's just a small decrease but nevertheless I noticed it. Overall still better than iOS 7.
My battery life on my 6 was atrocious under 8.02. I downgraded back to 8.0 and it is much better. I was not making it through the work day under 8.02.
