I'm having an issue since 18.2 RC and now with the latest update where my exchange email on the mail app does not always reconcile with Outlook desktop. In other words, I often read an email on my desktop and wait a bit and it still shows unread on the phone. If I open it on the phone often it still stays unread or will show read but I still have a 1 message badge icon on the mail app. Sometimes the only fix is to force close the Mail app. I deleted and reinstalled the account no luck.

Having the same issue now that 18.2 has finally been released. I show on my iPhone that I have 500 unread yahoo emails, when in reality it should be less, I already tried several times to delete the yahoo acct and reinstall it, and it continues. By the way it’s only occurring with yahoo emails not Google gmails.

18.2 Mail is a mess. Nothing in agreement for unread emails - app icon shows six unread, when you look at list of mailboxes (I have five mailboxes on my iP), the individual unread numbers are all dead wrong and don't add up to the amount noted for Unread. To boot, a folder in one of the accounts has ZERO unread yet on iOS mail it now shows 22 unread.

For example, under mailboxes account #1 shows two unread but in reality is three. Account #2 shows zero unread yet in reality is two. Acct #3, which is iCloud, shows three but is actually six. Acct #4 shows zero but is actually four, and acct #5 shows one but is really thirteen. Add up all the actual numbers and that matches the 28 that is what Unread shows under Mailboxes, but that is the only correct number anywhere.

I spent the better part of an hour on the phone w/ senior advisor yesterday and it's been "escalated," unfortunately I won't hear back until Sunday since the SA I spoke with is OOO until then. And yes, have forced quite, rebooted, signed in/out of accounts, reset network settings, nada. 🤷‍♂️

I have the opposite problem. No app badge/notification showing new messages, but when I open the app there’s a bunch of unread ones I haven’t seen. Happens with or without categorization turned on.

Same problem here with one additional observation. When I switch to the separate Inboxes for the three mail servers that I access through Mail on my iPhone, the status magically updates, i.e., the messages are marked read or deleted as they should be from my previous interactions on my computer. When I return to All Inboxes, the corrected status is preserved...at least until the next round of emails come in.
