18.5. Maps screen no wrap around Dynamic Island

Hello to you all. I bought a new iPhone 16 Plus. It came with 18.5 pre-installed. My old 11 and 12 have also been updated to 18.5. I had noticed on the 12 that Maps screen doesn't wrap around the notch but would on the 11 and now it doesn't either on the new 16 Plus (Attachements: my 16 + is dark, other from Web). Searched the Web and the only related informations are about the DI not working at all. I tried everything I can think of but nothing works. Is this the new behaviour of Maps or a glitch. It started on my 11 and 12 when I upgraded from 17 to 18. Kinda annoying.

Your phone should look just like the web picture. Have you restarted the phone?

Yes I did. More than once. The 16+ is brand new. Got it last Thursday. I remember now cause this is the first thing I checked: after the very first boot, Maps displayed like the Web picture. Was relieved. Of course I fiddled with the settings to make the phone to my taste. I know the drill and don't do stupid things. I will pay a visit to the Apple Store where I bought the Plus whic BTW is fulfills my light needs. ChatGPT and Gemini say it's an Apple Maps feature and its screen should not wrap around the Dynamic Island for reasons of clarity and precision. Hmmm

Yes. Your screen should look like the web picture. Do you have any “utility” apps installed designed to change system behavior? All I could think of was accessibility settings but I can’t find any that change the Dynamic Island. I’m just putting ideas out there.

I’ve just tested it and it caused by “Reduce Transparency” setting.
