Just recently my daughter has been diagnosed with being partially color blind. The funny thing is, color-blind patients(Or so I've heard so far) it's 'full' colorblindness or something called partial color blindness where its blue-yellow you have problems with or red-green. BUT, when we were at the doctors, she identified the yellow circles as white. And SOME green dots as blue. Yet, she couldn't identify any of the red circles. Maybe I'm just very inintelligent in this area but, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this.

Is she old enough to correctly identify colors that she sees? If she's young and simply confused about the names of colors, you don't want that to mislead you.

You can find information about color blindness and links at many web sites. We're discussing the subject today in the What it's like to be color blind thread, which is why I noticed your thread.

You said your daughter
* confused yellow and white
* confused some green with blue
* confused red with (what?)

Interpreting the results depends on whether she was looking at lights or printed dots (pigments) since colors combine differently with light. Usually tests are done with printed dots.

It seems that she is not perceiving yellow, although that is not one of the colors our eyes detect directly. The symptoms do not match the signs of red-green colorblindness. In blue-yellow color blindness, blue and yellow are confused because blue is not perceived, so that seems closer to her situation.
