I've just finished testing access under iOS8.1.1 of all available, iOS-compatible external file systems (FAT16, exFAT, FAT32, MacOS Extended) and found out that
unlike 8.1, the new 8.1.1 JB has absolutely no problems with accessing these external FS's WRT camera import, unlike the old JB.
That is, if you do want to use your CCK for importing photos but don't want to update from 8.1 to 8.1.1 (and re-jailbreak), do it now. The CCK photo import functionality will work.
NOTE: this has nothing to do with accessibility / mountability from under iFile (see my old, dedicated tutorial for more info: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1464236/ ). I haven't tested the latter, "only" the traditional, "stock" photo import, which was broken in the previous pangu JB.
