Huge difference between 13" 1080p and 12" MB Retina display?

Would there be a drastic difference between a 1080p display on a 13" monitor and the 1440p on the 12" MB? I am currently deciding between the Dell XPS 13 1080p model and the new MB. Not considering the higher res touch screen on the Dell since the 1080p model gets 15 hours of battery life while the touch gets around 8.

I just want to know if there will be a huge tradeoff between the two screens.

It looks like the high scaled resolution on the rMB will be 1440x900 you may be able to get more usable space on the 13.3 Dell. I dont know how the screens will compare, there really is no way to know until the new mac gets reviewed. I personally am leaning more towards this mac and just reselling and getting a new one when that comes out.
