Volume controls disappear

I have this issue once in awhile where I loose the ability to adjust my volume. I have this issue more on my iPad air 2 more than my iPhone 6 Plus. Started with... iOS 8 of course. If I bring up control center it looks like this: http://imgur.com/cMHDv9h

I can't really reproduce the issue. It just happens. Though, sometimes if happens when I dissconnect fr AirPlay, but I am not connected to any other devices as of those screen shots. A restart fixes it, but it's a hassle. Anyone have this issue too?

Same here

I had the same issue - after owning the air2 for three months or so with no problems.

This just started happening the past few days. I called applecare and got this long weird song and dance that, summed up, came down to:

"We don't know what to do, but YOU can back up and restore your device using itunes and see IF that works. And/or you can take it to the genius bar and they may/may not do something for you there."

Really? Wow. If my auto mechanic told me to go outside and jack up my car, I couldn't be more surprised by the "you can try this or that" approach to see IF it "fixes" anything... today. And, tomorrow. And, maybe forever.

All in all, too close to the old MS routine, "shut down, unplug, replug, and reboot" kind of "fix" for me to take them seriously.

I think one their recent patches messed something up. I'm just going to wait and see if the next patch, or, whatever, doesn't make the problem vanish.

Not worth all the time I spent making the phone(s) call, so far.
