Recently i decided to install an SSD drive in my mid 2010 core i7 2.93GHZ 27" iMac but i found out very sadly that my imac doesn't have SATA3 ports, only SATA2, is this true?
Also, is it known how many SATA ports my model has?

So now will i be experiencing difference in speed if i were to own an iMac with a sata3 port? Im gonna be using graphic design apps (Adobe CS6).

Sata 3 is half the speed of sata 6 but you'll see a jump changing a platter drive to ssd due to the throughput increase.

You'll see about 300-350mbs compared to 5-550ish depending on drive

On SATA 2 there will be a noticeable difference in speed as the SSD will be able to saturate it. Compare that to the HDD in my 2010 iMac which hovers around 90 MB/s both read and write and is clearly the reason it's so slow on Yosemite.
