Worth upgrading from mid-2013 MBA to 2015 MBA?

Are the CPU, battery life and faster memory upgrades worth upgrading from a mid-2013 MBA to the recently released 2015 model? (Both 13", 4GB, 128GB, stock lowest speeds). Figure if I sell my current 2013 model and buy a used 2015 model, I would pay a difference of around $100.

Edit: I do light photo and video editing and lots of YouTube watching and web browsing

I don't think you'll see much of a difference based on the uses you mentioned. It also might be difficult to find a used 2015 model out in the wild at the moment.

Hell at the moment, but today is the last day. Best Buy has the 13" MBA on sale for $799. And if you use a 10% movers coupon you can get another $100 off almost. That is a REALLY REALLY good deal for someone in the market, probably better than the used ones at the moment. But like i said today was the final day i believe of the sale.

You would probably get a marginal improvement since the 2015 one is basically a 2014 model with slightly better battery life. That is, the current MBA is basically the previous iteration with a 5-10% performance bump. If you weren't interested on the 2014 model, you won't be interested on the 2015 one.

I have a mba 2015 had a 2013 I do not notice a single difference

And the 2014 model was a 2013 model with a slight speed bump. The answer to the OPs question is NO!

Nah. Maybe if you had the 2011-2012 with the less battery life. But 2013 battery should be just fine.

I would just hold out another another year. If skylake does what it claims, it could be a substantial upgrade.

I have a '13 and I'm waiting for Skylake.

The 2015 i5 should be about as fast as the '13 i7, and will give extremely fast write speeds. Also, the battery life with the 2015 should be better if you're running Yosemite on your 2013. Otherwise ML is a more efficient OS. Thunderbolt 2.. personally I don't use Thunderbolt. All the big upgrades (battery life, PCIe, AC wireless, dual mics) came in 2013 IMO.

A dumb question perhaps; would they put Skylake in the Airs? My thought was that it would be put in the Pros, for sure, and maybe, down the line in the Macbooks, but perhaps not in the Airs, at least at the outset.

^^^^Skylake is Intel's next generation architecture that will make it's way into the entire Intel CPU line from the i3 to the Xeon. Thus that architecture will be common on all of that generations CPUs.

This conversation reminds of the advice a good friend has always given me about buying a computer - if you really need it, buy it now, and don't regret the "enhancements" to come. I may need to get something prior to 2016, and if that's the case, it's ok. I used to waste a lot of time worrying about getting the "most updated" product, because I failed to realize that there will always be enhancements. He also said that at least if I buy Apple, if I keep it in good shape, I can get some financial return on it, too.

You all bring that to mind again.
