Which MacBook Pro/Air model to get?

Hi there,
I'm looking to upgrade my MacBook Pro A1226 to a better one but not newest, maybe a second hand one. What are some MacBook Pros/Airs that have upgradable ram and hard drive, nice repairability score, no graphic issues and are higher than Core 2 Duo in specs? Any suggestions on which model I should get?

2012 classic MacBook Pro is the last model where you can upgrade the RAM and hard drive, it comes with Ivy Bridge CPU, which is still a decent CPU and Intel HD 4000, an okay graphics.

Does it have any common issues like the airport problem on the 2010 model?

No idea.

I had the 2011 model and I never had any problems with it, no problems on 2012 MBA, 2013 rMBP, 2014 MBA and 2015 rMBP either.

I guess whatever issues the earlier models had, they were fixed in the later models.
