Hi,

My 2014 MacMini sometimes (not always) doesn't recognise my screen when connected via DVI-D or DVI-I. With VGA, it works.
Screen is a NEC MutliSync 2690 WUXi2

This used to be a problem that only occured occasionaly after a restart or waking up from sleep. As of today, the problem had been really persistent. (The only way I can write these lines is because I had an old VGA-adapter & VGA-cable lying around, which works without problems albeit in a slightly lower resolution of 1680x1050 instead of 1920x1200).

I'm not entirely sure if it's related to Mac OS or my MacMini, but this is what happens when I use the preferred DVI-input:
1) I start up the Mac Mini and the screen
2) a few seconds later, the screen shows the apple logo (slightly distorted, i.e. not in the screen's best resolution of 1920x1200)
3) just as the MacMini switches from "apple logo" to "desktop", the signal gets lost and the screen goes black.

About half the time, the MacMini starts in 1920x1200 resolution straight away, in which case the signal does NOT get lost.
Today I've tried about 30 restarts with DVI, and with they ALL had lower resolution - resulting in a black screen. Like I said above: the VGA-cable saved my day so far...

Any ideas where to start?
Is it a problem of the MacMini, Yosemite, or the screen?

Thanks for your help!
