How cool is that? I now have a TiBook with Steve Wozniak's signature on the back.

I had the oppertunity to meet him today at the FIRST Robotics Boston regional tournament. Woz is one of the juudges that is here going over to the teams in the pit area of the arena. He's a really cool guy it seems. I also got a picture with him, but it's not my camera, so I'll have to post it later (along with picts of the singed TiBook, which I'm using right now) when I get home on Sunday.

A side (and kinda insignificant note) question to folks... Did the value of this laptop increase any with the signature? I doubt I'd sell it, because it's irraplaceable almost - I probably will never have the chance to have him sign my Apple computer again. In a few years when I retire this, I might just have to keep it on a shelf in a case in my room to proudly display the "artifact."

Does anyone else have an Apple signed stuff from him?

I am shooting invisible beams of envy at you right this second. ;)

I don't imagine that it has (significantly) increased the value of your notebook to anyone else -- on the other hand, I am frequently surprised at the prices that things go for on eBay. If I were you, I'd hang on to it as a keepsake.

I'm sure the value of it did increase... how much is sorta up to the person who longs to have something with Woz' autograph on it.

I have a Microsoft Mouse 2.0 (the old "Dove Bar" mouse, circa 1993) that's signed by Bill Gates... won it in a raffle when I worked at Microsoft. It's been sealed in a Ziploc bag ever since I won it. Someday I hope it'll be worth a fair bit of money. :)

That is awesome. I would have Steve (or Steve) sign my MBP in a heartbeat if I had the chance.
How was FIRST? I have always wanted to go. Was Dean Kamen there?
Decent - aside for me disliking a lot of the members of my own team - the atmosphere of the competition itself is pretty cool. It's being held at BU, which has awesome facuilities (and a realllly fast internet connection!).

Dean Kamen has not been here, but I guess he could show up tomorrow.

Just make sure you don't sell it until after his murder trial.

I remember reading something a while back about some who had Woz sign their iBook when they saw him somewhere in public. I also think I recall iGary meeting him in an Airport. Maybe it was someone else though.

Yeah, and another member here I believe saw him in a restraunt a few months ago. He seems to be quite accessable, at least signature wise.

Cool, but I have to ask you: Why are you using it?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I'd go and get it preserved, or something. Don't want that piece o' history getting stolen on the road.

I bought it to be used, not sit on a shelf! It runs great anyway, no reason to not use it because of slow performance or anything.

Dean Kamen showed up today, as it was the finals. Our team got eliminated though. :(

Should've had him (her? them? Who the **** is Woz?) sign the battery so if you sold it down the road, you wouldn't have to sell the entire machine, just the battery (which would eventually need to be replaced anyways).

Woz (Steve Wozniak) is the co-founder of Apple, along with Steve Jobs.

Congrats on meeting Woz and getting his signature!

I debated that, but then I wouldn't have a computer signed by him, just a battery.

Haha haha that sig looks like it belongs there.
Maybe Jobs should put out a signature series line of all his products. All of them are engraved with his signature and they come with a little something extra, like a matching Al external keyboard regardless of the machine.
