$1899 Single 1.8 G5s at Apple Store

Apple is offering a $200 discount on their brand new 1.8Ghz SP G5s. They are in the "Sale" portion of the Apple Store where they usually have the refurbs. That brings the price down to $1899 (only $100 more than the 1.6Ghz single). For 200Mhz and three PCI-X slots I can't see a good reason for ANYONE to buy the 1.6Ghz machine anymore.

Of course the refurb 1.8 Ghz G5s are only $1699. That seems like a pretty good deal.

some people don't have that extra $100 and are stretching to get up to the 1.6Ghz price. The extra bells and whistles appeal to some (myself included) - but there are a lot of people out there who want the cheapest-best computer out there - as in, a G5 with the lowest price.
