Steve Jobs movie Australia release. Anyone know what's going on?

None of the cinemas in Sydney has a listed date? IMDB shows it as opening on 8 October 2015. The official Universal website shows it is being released in January 2016 (accessed from Australia).

What is going on?

I'm a big Sorkin fan, and this is just so frustrating!

It's a big studio film! We haven't gotten this kind of treatment in Australia from the big studios since the 1990s!!!

IMDB isn't exactly reliable, it's far too easily vandalised, which is why I stopped using it.
The Universal studios website would actually be accurate.

Yes, I agree with this. It's just that usually the local cinema website lines up with at least one or the other. But for this movie, there is not a single mention on any cinema website of a big movie from a big studio.

I understand in the US the movie is being released this week and next week. So the Australian release is 3 months away? We signed the free trade agreement!

Maybe so, but that doesn't mean we suddenly start getting things as soon as the americans do.
They'll always find some excuse to delay its local release.
