Is there a way to make it so that iphoto wont open up everytime i insert my compact flash card into my computer? sometimes I want to just use bridge instead of iphoto to view pics

I assume Bridge is an app that came with your camera, right? Okay, open up Image Viewer in your Applications folder, go to its Preferences and there should be a drop down list of what app opens when you plug in a camera. Select Bridge from here. :)

i think the OP is referring to Adobe Bridge. That will work for file association, but to disable iPhoto opening up, here's what to do.

Launch Image Capture
Under Preferences, camera, select the option for 'do nothing'

It should look like this;

I know it's not very intuitive, but there you have it.
