iPod touch 1G 2.1 battery life

I upgraded a couple weeks ago from a JB 1.1.4 to unJB 2.1. Lately I've been charging my iPod all night, then bringing it to class and doing some light surfing in each class from 8 to 1. By the time I'm out, the battery is either dead or at 10%. I've had my touch for 10 months now.

Solutions?

Well 3 hours of internet surfing is allowed by the battery per full charge, so if your light surfing is equivalent to about 3 hours then your ipod is working just fine
