I’ve got a 7-8 month old 1st gen AppleTV 4K, last gen model in other words with an A10.
Mostly really love it (except some reason it doesn’t let you bring up the task switcher from an IR remote, seemingly for no good reason at all.

only issue I have is when I switch hdmi inputs to it, quite often it will have the video on etc and disconnect over and over. Sometimes very infrequently, sometimes every few seconds.

rebooting it always fixes it until I switch hdmi to something else and back again.

I’m using a cable included with a 1080p device, so maybe that’s the issue, though it otherwise seems to work fine including on 4K HDR10 content, so maybe not. It seems fine if it’s been rebooted since switching inputs to it.

just tried streaming to it from a windows 10 PC running itunes last night for the first time, and it all worked flawlessly, which I was thrilled to see, including jumping back, forward, fast forwarding.

I should have bought this years ago, and it’s been way more trouble free than the Roku or Amazon devices I’ve used…plus the privacy and security!

A cable correctly certified for 4k should work fine. If it was 1080p only, then it will be struggling and depends on what the video settings are on the ATV. Any cable ID? Though if it worked with another device, that could be some provenance to it being OK but only if the conditions matched.

You don't need to spend lots. Mine are a few quid each, they meet the requirements.

Of course the spec in the link are for people that pass their cables for testing, non tested can also work fine.
