Hey guys, I just bought one of the refurb 4gb iphones from apple.com. I was wondering if you are still able to get the cheaper $20 data plan since it's edge only. It's for my brother and he can't really afford the $30 plan for very long. Anyways, any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

I believe that the $20/month plan is still available to newly-activated 1st gen phones.

I wanted to pick one up..... but I waited too long to decide. Good for you for gettin' in on that.

When you go through the activation process, take note that the only data plan available, also the one which is required, is the $20 one.
