looking for a 1st gen iPad for the inlaws.
something for them to surf the internet on while watching tv...

i've looked and what i found was nothing but resellers selling this iPad for high prices. i've checked with Apple and there are none in stock right now.
any other sites i should look into?

Yep, I checked the refurbed section in the Apple site and zero in stock right now. From my understanding, you have to check back often to see when any new stock arrives.

Thanks for the link. I saw that one but I'm looking for just wifi.

Did check eBay and couldn't find any good deals. I did see a 1st gen iPad 16gb wifi sell for $450 or so. I'm thinking for that price, just get an iPad 2.

Yeah, I'm with you on this. I've been looking for a 1st-gen iPad for my mom and everyone's selling them for crazy prices. As you said, at that rate you might as well buy the current one for a few bucks more. I was hoping to find one in the $300 range but no luck.

Should Be Possible

To pick up a 64GB wifi only iPad 1 for around (UK £ 400.00) If you really need one rich away, then yes, but I'd wait until you can afford a 2. check back with :apple: on a daily basis, you will find one.

Getting a used one might not be your most favored option if you're getting it as a gift, but Craigslist probably has plenty of iPads listed in your area in all makes and models. Not all of them will be used. The kind you're looking for would most certainly be listed for under $400.
