I was wondering if Apple planned to keep selling the 1st generation iPad, at a lower price point($350-400), like the iPhone, or stop selling it completely, when the iPad 2 is released.
Selling it lower would practically kill the budget tablet market as well.

Thoughts?

Word also is of severe production constraints for the touchscreen/display, and the demand on the flash memory is also tight.

Simply a lack of parts

I doubt it as well... The iPad is not subsidized like the iPhone, so there is no real incentive with creating a "budget" market. In the future when the tablet market itself becomes more established then I can see different reasons in having a "budget" market.

Not sure if it's just to clear remaining inventory, or wether Apple will keep producing them, but it looks like a yes!

It's in the clearance section of the Apple Store. That means it's discontinued.
