I have a first generation iphone that has recently been upgraded to the 2.2 software. When I try to shut it down, it looks like it normally is about to, then it suddenly just starts to reboot right away every time.
I tried doing a restore and that didn't help.

I'm not sure if this is a result of the 2.2 update or not because I rarely shut the phone down.

Has anyone ever heard of this or have any ideas?

The speaker is also having some distortion issues that I just noticed (possible hardware failure happening? or trauma that happened to the phone I was not aware of?)

Thanks for any input.

I've been experiencing some distortion on my speaker as well. This never happened before the 2.2 update. Simply shutting down and restarting the iPod app fixes the problem.

As far as not being able to shut down the phone,.
