iPod 1st Gen ipod Nano play/pause broken!

HI Guys,

Mate of mine has just reported to me that on his first generation iPod Nano the play/pause button when pressed is just forwarding through the tracks and not actually playing or pausing tracks.... anyone heard of this before or suggest a solution?

Dunno. Maybe try restoring the firmware via iTunes, assuming it's not too difficult to sync back.

if the firmware restoration is unsuccessful, take it to an Apple store. in my experience, they'll (1) fix it, (2) give you a new one free of charge, or (3) tell you you can't do anything about it and you have to live with it or buy a new one. in any case, you'll know what the next step is.

OK thanks..... long way to an Apple store so fingers crossed the fireware restoration works.
