Hello, I have a first generation iPod Touch. When I connect it to my MacBook i get a message in iTunes saying to restore the IPod. I click on restore. ITunes then goes through the motions of restoring but then nothing happens. Each time it tells me to restore the iPod.

So far I tried buying iOS 3.1 on iTunes. And also tried removing another USB device while the iPod was restoring. I also tried to restore it on another MacBook. I read about these potential fixes on this forum but none of them worked.

Please let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I had this happen with a nano. I rebooted both the device and the computer and it straightened itself out. I hope this works for you.
