I'm just curious. I have an old 1st gen iPod Touch (8gb) that still works and although I don't use it as much anymore, would there be any advantage of jailbreaking it?

Since Apple currently won't support anything higher than 3.1.3 on it, would jailbreaking allow it to run newer apps?

Basically I'm just wondering what I could do by jailbreaking it rather than letting it stay as is and no longer being able to update it.

Thanks,
PG
