A few days ago, I dropped my 1st Gen iPod Touch in the toilet. After doing research, I decided to try the rice trick (left it in a bag of rice for 48 hours). After I took it out, it seemed to work fine and back to normal. However, the battery now only lasts about 10 minutes or so.

Is this a problem with the battery or is there something else causing the battery life to be so short?

I left mine out in the rain. Same kind of problem. Took it in for repairs and they said it was toast - internal electronics. Now a proud owner of a new Touch and loving it.
