Is the 1st generation iPad (2010 model) compatible with Airplay mirroring to Apple TV? Thanks.

You can't mirror on the first generation iPad, but you can play videos and music to the AppleTV.

This is just one of many reasons I am upgrading from my iPad 1 to the iPad 4 next week. Mostly though its because the iPad 1 no longer plays a lot of newly released software and it crashes often if you have a lot of apps open. I was surprised after just 3 years its obsolete but then again its a gen 1 tech device with 256 MB's of ram.

1. airplay mirroring has very little practical use.

2. So goes the early adopter tax.
