1st generation iPhone Dock on iPhone 4

Just wanted to let everyone know that if for whatever reason you still have the dock for the original 1st generation iPhone (silver back & edge only) it works great as a dock for the just released iPhone 4.

I saw this is another thread. That's good news I still have 2 left from my first gen.
 
now where did I put that. I have only moves 3 times since then so it's got to be around here somewhere... :(
 
Does anyone have a picture of an iPhone 4 in the 1st gen iPhone dock?? I've got two of them in my desk and wasn't really looking forward to dropping another $30 on a new dock.

I swear, I must have 15 iPod docks around here. Wish Apple would just include the dock like they did back a couple years ago.
 
FWIW the 1st gen "universal" dock that predates the iPhone also works fine despite displaying the notorious "not compatible" message.

Yeah my 2G dock works great but the freakin car charger connections but then the screen says that device can't be used....why do they force you to buy a whole new charger....kinda lame and just ripping off your customers
 
First gen dock

Last night I instinctually placed my iphone in its dock while syncing. Then I realized that I had just placed my iphone 4 in my first gen's dock, and it fit!
 
Best part about this?

You can find the docks on ebay for $5.00.

Pretty rad actually... I was going to get two for $60 plus tax... Now I'm using an old one and paying $5. pretty cool.
 
I use my 2G iPhone dock with my iPhone 4. It works perfectly. Its a little wider but the 2g was wider. not a problem
