I just updated my 1st gen iPod touch to 3.0 and everything is fine, but when I go into my Settings. I don't see anything for the Push Notifications. If I go into the Mail settings, I see the Fetch New Data which I have on, but I thought that was just for Mail. How does this all work? What apps Push your data for you?

I believe that the PUSH notification is not for 1st gen users.

No you have to activate it. Download tap tap revenge, connect to itunes and then open tap tap. Itunes will ask if you want to enable notifications. Say yes and then in settings right under wifi their will be a little black square with a red dot labeled notifications.

I could be wrong. It looks that there really is not an app that might not support it yet. I dont there there is a setting for it anyways.

tap tap revenge rolled out an update 2 days ago that enabled push and a couple other apps have the ability but have not turned it on yet. (i think AIM and IM+)

I see that. I am wondering if when more apps update to that will it prompt you when you do the update.

I hope not that would be a pain and it looks like it wont because after you enable a first time an area comes up in settings that allows you to turn push notifications completely off or turn of specific apps.

I did this and iTunes didn't ask me. I opened up Tap Tap Revenge [I tried it with Tap Tap 2 too] and then plugged my iPod into iTunes and nothing happened. What am I doing wrong?

hmm let me email apple and see if it works. If you disconnect your ipod and try to open taptap does a message come up that says to activate push connect to itunes?
