1st Generation Macbook optical drive PROBLEM

Hi, I own 1st generation macbook with my optical drive replaced couple of months ago. However, i do not know whether it's hardware defect or the optical drive is not compatible with this version of macbook but the optical drive makes a "resetting sound" (same sound it makes when eject button is pushed without any media loaded) whenever I turn on the computer, or wake it from sleep. It is really annoying!!!

Can anyone help with this issue? The applecare would not talk to me since my warranty is over.

Mine does the same thing, since the day I took it out of the box. It's nothing to worry about.

That's normal, my Mac Mini makes the same noise.
