Every so often my iPod touch sets its date and time to the 1st January 1970.. The thing is I have not got a clue how /why this is happening.

My pc is set to the correct date and time.
Any ideas??

Hmmm... this happened to me with my old second generation iPod Nano.

You must make sure that your Mac/PC time zone is the correct one you are in, make sure the time and date are correct...

This solved my problem... haven't had any problems with my iPod Touch so far regarding time and date.

Hope this helps.

Mine does this occasionally too.
The last time I was in the middle of a conference and ruined my day, I had no idea what time it was until I glanced at someones wrist watch.

I hope this doesn't become more frequent.

My sony xperia pops up with a e mail 1 jan 1970 but reads no subject dispears when read it then pops up couple days later:eek:

My guess is some extreme trauma was experienced on that date.

Since iPod touch didn't exist at that time, it must have been in an earlier life - perhaps as a boom box.

(It's not pretty inside my head )

The Unix epoch is the time 00:00:00 UTC on 1 January 1970

Sometimes I get random text messages from that date. I thought I was getting signs from the past/future and started wearing tin foil on my head
