1TB Firewire drive that can take abuse

Well, I have a 1TB Maxtor One Touch that started to fail on me today. It randomly just stops responding. Sometime it will mount and sometimes not. I will stop using it until I can get a replacement.

Is there a 1TB drive out there that is better at taking abuse than the others? I drive a truck and use Front Row to listen to music while driving, all the music resides on my 1Tb drive. Trucks ride rougher than cars so I need something that can take the abuse.

Also, are there any ways to help isolate the drive from the bumpy environment I'm forcing it to live in?

I would get a pelican case. Something like this,

It is really designed for watertight storage and transportation but you could drill a couple holes for your cables, you sound like a modder if you have a computer in your truck.
