If I install Parallels https://www.parallels.com/ on a new 4 TB MacBook Pro
could I access
- 2 TB of data from my Thinkpad X1 Extreme
- .5 TB of data from my 2016 15" MacBook Pro

1) In the same directory structure, without duplicating the files
2) Directly from Windows apps within Parallels and also Mac apps

If Yes, I will order a 4TB 16" MacBook Pro.
If No, I will order a 1TB 16" MacBook Pro.

For example, with just a text file, could I
- Edit it in Windows Notepad
- Then, edit same file in same location in TextEdit
?

This is probably too obscure to ask, but
I also need to run Breevy http://www.16software.com/breevy/ on the Parallels / Windows desktop
and TextExpander textexpander.com on the Mac, sharing the same snippets.

Parallels has a lot of options for sharing files and directory structure between the two, so should be fine.

What I actually do is use a 3TB Dropbox account on a 1TB SSD. Dropbox can store locally just what you need, and then use that across multiple computers including Windows running on Parallels on a MacBook Pro.
