I'm trying to update to this magical new software, no such luck. I've got iTunes 8, I hit update and get the message that 2.0.2 is the current version. I downloaded the IPSW directly and it didn't do anything. This is with the iPhone 3g.

Quit iTunes and restart it, and the update should show up when you plug in the phone.

Hold down the option key or shift (in windows) to manually install the firmware.

To the previous poster, many restarts did not help.
