2.0.2 update issues

I just updated my 3g iphone to v. 2.0.2

1) all my contacts and itunes were deleted
2) all my apps were not useable - I had to upload them again
and the big problem where I can not make headway
3) contacting my iphone to itunes (v.7.7.1), I can only restore my iphone or set up as a new iphone. I can not get the iphone synced with my computer.

I restored it from my last back up, but connected the iphone to my desktop, I get the same message - restore or set up as new.

Can anyone help me get out of this infinite loop. thanks. cmr

Had this same issue w/ 2.0.1. Select setup new phone. It will then correctly recognized your phone as activated, but you will have to reselect your synchronization settings (contacts w/ Outlook, what Music to sync, etc...)

Seems anytime mine has a firmware reload I have to do this now. Sucks.

is it possiable to update my old 1st gen iphone without it locking? i am just using it as a itouch

I just noticed on 2.0.2 the "update all" button doesn't exist when you have multiple apps that need to update. I have to go to each of them and install them separately. This is annoying.
Also, my SMS sound is sometimes present sometimes not.
This kind of crap is really pissing me off.
