With news of the 2.0 jailbreak I finally decided to update my iPhone, but now it wont reactivate when I connect it to iTunes. This is sort of complicated so i'll start from the beginning.
Last summer my mother and I got iPhones while visiting California because they weren't available in Alaska at the time, we got california phone numbers to use until at&t became available for us locally. In the mean time I had jailbroken my iPhone (never sim unlocked it), and used it that way until I could get a local phone number. When we got the new phone numbers at&t gave us new sim cards, I put mine in my phone and it functioned without even needing to connect it to iTunes to activate it or anything. Whereas my mothers phone which was not jailbroken needed to connect to iTunes and do the standard reactivation after a regular restore or sim card change.
It has been a few months and I haven't restored my iPhone until now with the 2.0 update. My mothers phone updated without a hitch. But after the update I plug my phone into iTunes and I get the page where I'm "Welcome to my new iPhone." And I only have options to set it up as a new phone, individually or on another account. No options to just continue using it the way it was. And here I am sitting at these choices and I don't want any of them, I just want my phone to work.
I have tried to use the pwnage tool to jailbreak it again to see if it would work then, but the pwnage tool isn't working, somthing about the bootloader files not being the correct ones. So if you can help me there too that would be great.
