firstly not my find source

this is all assuming you have never updated to 2.0 before hand and are still on say 1.1.4 for example.

basically if you have your touch in dfu mode and click restore as normal iTunes will give 2.0 agreement and will download the 2.0 update, when its downloaded your ipod will then restore to the official 2.0 firmware and well after restore guess what....... full 2.0 firmware on your touch with no fee paid to apple.

I am no expert but I cant see this being illegal really since iTunes does all the updating etc

Follow these steps to put your iPhone or iPod Touch into DFU Mode. . .
* Turn off your device
* Push AND hold the Home AND Power buttons
* When you see the Apple logo. . .Let go of the Power button
* Connect your device to the computer and open iTunes

iTunes should tell you that the iPhone or iPod Touch is in ‘restore mode’ (DFU).
